The family heads out on it's very first backpacking trip, and what better place than Catalina Island? We head out for 3 days of fun, challenges and adventure that made one memorable trip. Catalina offers a broad range of scenery and entertainment options for the Outdoor Adventure Spirit... You can bet we will make this an annual event!
We had a French Exchange student visiting us for a few weeks so we decided to take him somewhere unlike any place you would find in France... Vegas & Red Rock Canyon!
We headed to Southwest Utah for spring break to see Bryce Canyon and Zion. As we entered Utah via Highway 40 through the Virgin River Gorge, the truck up and died. Fuel pump. Easter Sunday... Needless to say we spent the night in St. George - camping in a WalMart parking lot! The truck was fixed later the next day and we made it to Bryce Canyon. Did you know the temperature drops down to freezing or below 200 days out of the year at Bryce? Neither did we. It was COLD! We still enjoyed our stay at Bryce, and especially Ruby's Inn. After a few days we packed up and headed to Zion. We stayed at a campground that was next to the park entrance in Springdale.
